- Take a deep breath, and relax. Oftentimes, especially if you are shy or nervous, you will tense up. The last way you will want to appear within your photos though is tense! It is important before your session to relax yourself. Drink some tea or water, take some deep breaths, do a few stretches, and allow your body to loosen up. Also, take a few minutes to have a normal conversation with your photographer, as this will allow you to get to know them on a more personal level, as well as feel more comfortable within their presence as they capture your photos.
- Just be yourself! When it comes to your photos, you will want to appear as yourself within them. People often worry that they have to try and please the camera, but really, that is the last thing that you will want to do. Do not worry about trying to reflect a certain image throughout your photos, as you and your viewers will want to see your natural beauty, not a staged appearance that doesn’t reflect who you are. So, don’t worry about presenting yourself a certain way, as you photographer and the camera will work together to create a lovely outcome for you.
- Know that you are not alone. It is important to remember that your photographer will not just throw you in front of the camera and expect you to know what to do. You will be guided through your photo session, for an easy and uncomplicated time. From describing ways for you to pose to allowing you to act natural, your photographer will be there will you the entire way, guiding you through with ease.
