Has it really been a year already?! Happy 1st birthday to Sara! She’s one of my “Grow with Me” babies and I can’t believe it’s been a year… It was an honor and my pleasure to photograph baby Sara! Watching her grow and being able to document her milestone ages in the first year has truly been amazing. Here are my past blog posts in the past: newborn, 4 months, 8 months. Sara is actually the second one of my ”grow with me” session from the L Family. I had the honor of documenting her big brother, Adrian’s first year as well: 1, 2, 3.

Berenice & Nic, thank you for your trust in me in having the honor to photograph your little ones. You’ve always been so welcoming to me every single time I went to your home. You have such a beautiful family. Sara and Adrian are lucky to have you as parents! I will surely miss you all!

What’s New? I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! It was our last full weekend off for the summer and we celebrated Misha’s 5th birthday! A special thank you to my sister, Kristine, for helping me A LOT, along with my parents, brothers, and SIL’s and of course, Andy! Also to one of my past brides Mindy who helped in sending over TONS of ideas for her Hello KItty themed birthday party. Mindy has started her own business in event planning. If you need help in planning your event, she’s the one to go to. Endless ideas and she has a lot of DIY inspired projects which I love! She’s also an avid blogger and shares a lot of her ideas on her blog: “a day with lil mama stuart” And last, but not least, Michelle of Michelle’s Cakes did a fantastic job on Misha’s Hello Kitty cake! Can’t wait to share some photos with you! More details on a personal blog post coming later this week! Have a great week everyone!

Oh my cuteness! This was my very first session photographing twins… it was twice the fun, twice the smiles, and twice the number of tiny toes! Evelyn & Charlotte are just two AHH-DORABLE baby girls… Ok I know I said that twice, but see for yourself! Evelyn & Charlotte are not just my clients, they are the sweet daughters of Misha’s pre-school teacher, Miss Erin =D

Alex is the younger brother of Andrew, who I photographed when he was also 1 year old. Alex is such a cutie patootie, just like his brother… Big brown eyes and super long lashes… I can’t help but smile every time I look at his photos!

What we’ve been up to… It’s been a little quiet here on our blog lately, but I promise, there will be tons of blog posts coming your way soon! We recently attended the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) Convention in Las Vegas. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones… WPPI has always been a learning experience for Andy and I, and we are so excited about this upcoming 2011 season! After Las Vegas, we traveled to Los Angeles and had a handful of sessions all over southern California, so you’ll be seeing those images on our blog as well. Aside from traveling, we’ve been pretty busy meeting with couples during our “off-season.” We only have a couple dates available for weddings in 2011 and are currently booking 2012 weddings. As always, thank you for stopping by and we hope that you enjoy our photos!

Lucy is another second generation Misha Media client =D I just love the continuation of relationships and meeting my B&G’s little ones! Amanda and Jay, you guys did a great job =P! Lucy is just so ADORABLE! I kept wanting to pinch her cute chubby cheeks!! But I held off… I didn’t want to make red marks on her cheeks while I photographed her :P

Although Lana is daddy’s little girl, I see all Dena in her… she got mommy’s beautiful blue eyes and her smile! Zachary is a second generation Misha Media client! He is the son of April & JR. Take a peek at April & JR’s reception venue which was held at the W Hotel Lake Shore. I can’t believe that it’s already been 2 years since their wedding! It’s always nice to have a continued relationship with our clients. That way, we get to meet their little ones and Zachary is just so adorable and handsome. April & JR, thank you for allowing us to capture Zachary! =D

I started photographing Mia & Macy back in 2007. Blog followers, I know you remember how little they looked the first time, but here are the series of blog posts from their sessions: 2007, 2008, 2009, Halloween 2009. They flew me in to Omaha, Nebraska for their session again and thankfully, this time the weather cooperated and we were able to take some outdoor shots in their backyard. As soon as I arrived to their house, I was greeted by Mia on their driveway. She drew a picture of me and my camera! I was so surprised and felt so welcomed. She was so proud of her drawing and she said she drew it especially for me! Wow! What a way to start a session! I posted a picture of her drawing on our Facebook Page =D

Mia & Macy, thank you for all the laughter! You’re both turning out to be such beautiful girls. It was great seeing your pretty little smiles again!

I love Katie’s big beautiful blue eyes! This is the third time I photographed Katie. Look how little she looked the last time I photographed her! Sara is now 4 months old! Isn’t she a cutie?! With this blog post, I really wanted to express as a photographer and a mommy myself, of how important it is to capture your little ones. Let’s face it, they grow so quickly! Capture them in their stage at this point in their lives. It’s okay if they don’t look at the camera and smile at you… Don’t get me wrong, it’s always nice to frame those images, but capturing who they are at this age is priceless…If you have a toddler, like I do, it’s sometimes frustrating to get those images where they’re looking at you and smiling… Don’t fight it, just shoot… Capture them playing with their current favorite toys. Capture them doing their current favorite activity. Even though it’s an image that may embarrass them when they’re in junior high and high school, I’m sure they’ll be proud to show it off on their photo montage when they get married… At the end of it all, they’ll love you and appreciate you for capturing them… So when I chose these images of Sara for my blog post, I really wanted to show who she really is at 4 months… I know that when I see her again in her next installment of her “Grow with Me” session, she won’t be the same Sara at 4 months. Enjoy!

When I look at this image of Sara, all I can think of as a caption is “wee!”

This is the pre-crawling stage where babies go on their tummies, feet up in the air, trying to get their balance and enjoying this new found strength when they actually enjoy tummy time… Sometimes, they actually have their arms stretched out too. In that case, the caption would be “super baby!”

I saw her purse her lips a few times during her session… so tiny and so cute!

… and make bubbles in her mouth…

… and kick with her feet, trying to get a bearing with the ground beneath her… preparing for her next milestone in her life : crawling
