And just as we were about to end their session, it started to rain… love this shot!

This image above was shot by our assistant Erwin! Jason proposed to Adrianne at around Mile 13 during the Chicago Marathon this past summer. Yup, she was very surprised! The photo says it all! =D Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to Jeanne & Doug on their engagement! Jeanne is also a wedding photographer! We were “classmates” in one of the seminars at WPPI Las Vegas a few years ago. It was a pleasant surprise when I received an email from Jeanne telling me she’s engaged! Being chosen to photograph a fellow wedding photographer’s wedding is truly an honor. Jeanne & Doug flew into Chicago from Washington D.C. for their engagement session photos. They wanted an urban feel to their session so we headed over to Kinzie Street Bridge. Jeanne & Doug, thank you so much for a great afternoon! Hope you enjoyed your short stay in Chicago. We are so excited to photograph your wedding at the W Hotel in Washington DC this coming August! Fun Fact: We went to DC back in 2009 during the Cherry Blossom Festival and had some time to photograph at night. Click on the links to view some photos from our trip!

What’s New? Summer is here! I wish it was like this ALL year round. Longer days and so much more light! It’s ashame we don’t get much sun in the winter time… The vitamin D definitely provides so much more energy! I guess this is not-so-new news, but just wanted to share how much I really LOVE Summer! Joseph proposed at THE jewelry store, when Erin least expected it! Imagine just “browsing” for jewelries and next thing you know, your fiance is down on his knees proposing to you! Erin thought it was a joke until she realized all these flashes going off from the employees’ cameras because they were ALL in on the huge secret! Pretty darn clever, Joseph! It’s the obvious, but not-so-obvious-perfect-place! And to think that you were able to have this special moment captured by your accomplices! Seriously awesome!!! Erin & Joseph, it was a pleasure to finally meet you two during your engagement session! Thank you for a great afternoon and we can’t wait to photograph your wedding at the Adler Planetarium in the fall!

Sometimes, love doesn’t happen all at once… or could it have been that love was there all along, but they weren’t ready for it… Karen and Tom had known each other since grade school, went to junior high together, and also high school. Dated on and off throughout the years and went their separate ways in college. There was always something there that made them come back and keep the lines of communications open… After many years of on and off dating back in pre-college years, they finally sealed the deal! Things happen for a reason, but fate will always lead us to where we’re suppose to be. When you are true soul mates, fate always finds a way…

Karen & Tom, thank you for such a fun engagement session! It was great getting to know the both of you. Your smiles are contagious and we cannot wait to photograph your wedding later this year!
